If it gets an otherwise disinterested kid/young person to sit through a Ligeti piece then the intro is fine. No need to keep the austerity dusty, the proof is in the pudding after all.

I will never understand why is Ligeti so overlooked, probably because he is a 20th century composer, and for some people it needs to pass another century to truly cherish his brilliant compositions

...There's nothing much I can say really. Classical music does not need this kind of introduction to pander to an audience which is frankly not receptive anyway.If not for the fact that the performance WAS very excellently done, the introduction alone would have put me off the entire thing.
