There will never be another Maria Callas. No one can deliver this piece like she did. Perhaps not the most aesthetically beautiful voice, but certainly unrivaled in operatic performance. There is indescrible beauty in this aria.Wow.

jorgepda, from the look of things this is the Feb 9, 1964 BBC broadcast of Act II from Covent Garden with Gobbi and Cioni, in other words very near the very end. Only her '65 Paris pefromances and two Toscas at the Met remained ahead. How lucky we are to have at least this live testimonial.

My education is a technical one, so I am not sure that I appreciate it fully. Nonetheless, I watch it with enthusiasm. YouTube needs pieces of fine art like this just to show it's not all just dancing cats and rap videos
