Great song. I picked up the album and wasn't too impressed with the rest of it, but this song seems like it was ahead of its time. I first heard this in the movie "Serendipity" and thought it was Dave Matthews.

a great great song - so sad that as wakeupsean notes, he didn't get his due recog. until 30 years later - typical. And yes, totally underrated.... An amazing talent and like so many, sadly, seems he took his own life b/c he didn't feel it so or have the belief of others...thanks for this...

if he'd just gotten old and fat NONE of this latter-day canonization would be happening. and all his stuff just sounds the same to me (of course, i haven't listened to 'em over and over and over). give me an entertaining looney like Syd Barrett any day. Happy Birthday, Syd!

Darling, you sent me this recently. Where are you? Finally, a song of Nick's that's not about Jane...and now you've disappeared!

I'm 2 years older than Nick. His music never ceases to amaze me. Someone once told me that the beautiful & cursed carry the pain for those who are too weak. You may want to read Ian MacDonald's "Exiled from Heaven".

why is it that the most gifted, talented ones are always the cursed ones to carry such pain behind such a beautiful soul? |
