Ian Brown has sung a lot worse than this at times. At least Squire is in tune, albeit with a slightly different tone to his voice, and a lack of range and harmony. It's not that bad once you get into it, but I agree it's a bit weird, esp. as the original was so melodic and uplifting. The audience seem to like it.
