They piece together a whole lot better than the theory fabricated by the Warren Commission. The movie is based for a great deal on Jim Marrs' book Crossfire, which is all about facts, not theories.

The Warren Commision evidence had three rifle shells on the 6th. floor of the Texas School Book depository. But in this Movie there is a Scene where Kevin Cosner is looking out of that same window and the New Orleans DA.imagines the shooting taking place. In that sequence we see Lee harvey Oswald leaving only two rifle shells on the floor and one empty shell still in the rifle when he hides the gun. This makes more sence than having all three empty bullets on the floor?
