I used to have severe acne and I was on accutane twice, once while also using LIQUID retin-A, needless to say due to these treatments I had to use sunscreen. Most sunscreens caused further irritation or were too greasy for my super oily skin. I tried everything and failed until I found the 3 recommend products in her book all of which worked. And this was BEFORE she had her own skin line. I have been a fan since. Her sunscreen for oily skin is amazing!!

I fully know what she means when she says that just because we like something doesn't mean it's good for us. I LOVE the tingly feeling a mint juliep mask gives me, but they are TERRIBLE for your skin. I used to bombard my skin with anything and everything just because I liked the feeling of tightness that I got, I thought it meant my skin was really clean. Now I know better, but it's great that she's reaching out to people and those who don't want to look into it themselves understand.

Sorry I meant the ingredients they put in their products. And later. FDA Guidelines.
alexplot (January 1, 1970 at 12:59 am)
Do you see FDA doing that? So Orlane being a french brand... it probably do say quite a bit... Also you might have noticed that the rest of the industry are starting to create new products that are based to target the nerve endings such as the new offerings from Lancome. And please do thorough research on what guidelines are.

An effect on your nerve ending can be a sensation. A warm sensation/ comforting sensation/ cooling sensation...??? Hellooo... haha.... Haha. Please do not rub FDA in other people's faces, it will just make you look dumb. In Euro, they have started to enforce laws by 2009 such as the total ban on animal testing, and to have the effects of the ingredients they use on their skin to be researched thoroughly.

BTW FDA isn't all that either, the FDA don't even regulate supplements like the Euro countries do. FDA to me is kinda blah... Too slow... Too boring... Too pushed by big corporations. Ever wonder why Retin-A is the only FDA proven anti-wrinkle ingredient when normal Retinoids can do the same job with less irritation?

Anyone who have used anything that contains peppermint or the constituent part of it, menthol, has experienced the effect of day to day ingredients having an effect on your nerve endings. I believe you are way too sucked in by Paula's marketing nonesense. She is after all out there selling her own cosmetic lines.
chalo27 (January 1, 1970 at 12:59 am)
No cosmetic could get to your nerve endings without being considered a drug, and therefore subjected to scrutiny by the FDA. And regarding the cream from Orlane, what type of science is backing it up? I believe before making comments you should inform yourself and understand how the skin works.

lunatic is a person who thinks Paula Begoun is taking from her backside. She has researched for years before talking, and you can refer to all her sources she gives in all her books. rockineverywhere1234, please do not make comment on another person that are derogatory-they only reflect the kind of person you are and how poor your knowledge of this remarkable woman is.

yes she does, do you even read her books? she lists the sources which are scientifically based |
