And do some research on the birthplace of disco (since you wanna go there) ..Without FUNK (mostly from the South & Midwest) there would be NO DISCO ..OR HIP-HOP, even, for that matter! But I don't say hip-hop is from Jamaica, the South, or the Midwest, because I'm smart enough (and not selfish enough) to know that it all came together, giving us a new sound in NY! SAME w/ House in Chicago - House IS NOT disco! I'd credit Europe electronica, before NY's disco!

You say NY, simply because Knuckles derived from NY, but that's like saying Hip-hop started in Jamaica, because Kool Herc came from the West Indies(introducing America to the Jamaican style of DJing/toasting). But we don't say that, because all of the elements of hip-hop formed in NY. Same with Chicago House. House was influenced by disco djs, but it wasn't disco (just how disco was influenced by soul & R&B, which mostly derived from the South and MIDWEST!)

With all due respect to my friends and colleages this "docuo" omits the entire Gay and bisexual contigent in the scene and believe me there was segragation.You had /rocky Jones, Larry Sherman,/ray barney and the hot nix 5 who had great control of the radio (wbmx qand wgci) and then there was the gay clubs the /warehouse hmmm house first club with that word in its name.pt1
