then it went BANG.piston went through the block,valves went through the bonnet,flywheel got lodged in my head, god it was a terrible sight,i knew i shouldnt of pushed it that hard.

Oh and the DREAMSCIENCE re-mapp on it's own on a standard ST is great you dont really to need to go with any more tuning as with the DREAMSCIENCE alone it fly's...And will put a big smile on your face..

I have had my new focus ST for just over a week now and wow what a car!In standard form the car is great but i went with a DREAMSCIENCE re-mapp and now the turbo boost goes off the dial runing 270bhp...The new ST is a great car one of the best cars ford have ever built i love my ST as it is such a good car...Clarkson from TOP GEAR loves the ST.

i dont get it, the focus st is about £20,000 new, whereas you can get a seat leon cupra for about 5,000 with 30,000 miles on it, spend an extra couple of G and itll be runnin more brake than the ST ever will.

275 option is definatly the best value although i would love the sound of a full milltek system on the st. Sounds good on the clio but id imagine a lot better on the st plus it does give a bit of power and has liftime warrenty so its not all bad. Ive heard the focus has a great chassis so will have to see how it handles that amounts of power be interesting i think lol

I'm regularly on the pumaspeed website (sad aren't we) the thing is their instalation charges are rediculous, rather do it myself. I'm also not sure about the 305 or 295 bhp options, to me the 275 option seems like the best value, just a filter and dreamscience. Paying an extra £600 for 285 seems silly, only 10hp. You're right about one thing though, 275, 285, 300, whatever you choose, 300 tops will be more than enough for UK roads, and the focus chassis will handle it easily.

Ive only ever had a corsa with a soft clutch pedal so really wouldnt know if it would bother me or not lol, it would be mapped the week i got one pending on funds, although im tempted to get a kit off puma speed, 300bhp seems reasonably priced and is more than enough power for uk roads i think lol

You'll love the fact you can come up to a round-about in 4th gear at 15mph and pull cleanly over it... lazy driving. Pulls from 1300rpm - 5900rpm like a train, but please... remap it if you do get it! Talked to an ST owner near me, he said it was the best thing he did, just wish my brother would remap his. only gripe - clutch is a little too light in the ST.. sounds odd, but it lacks feel, other than that, a great driving experience.

Thats one reason why im edging towards the focus i think, you dont need to work hard with snappy gearchanges to drive fast, stick your foot down and it goes! The worst car to drive fast is the corolla t sport, you have such a narrow power band and must change as close to the 8200 limiter as you can without hitting it! Be nice to have a relaxed fast drive lol |
