HTC would be OK except for Windows Mobile. This I've always found difficult, long winded and very fiddly to use, much prefer the iPhone's UI.

If you get the Ipod touch and like an old nokia5800 or even your own phone :P you basicly can do what the Iphone can. And it's a LOT cheaper. And the Ipod touch is like 8mm thick.

Here in the UK we can get iPhone pre-paid. Its a bit expensive though at £342 for the 8gig on O2. I bought a 2G iPhone earlier in the year at the contract price of £168, didn't activate it, just unlocked it and used it on Vodafone pre-paid.

the only difference between the iphone and itouch is that the iphone is a phone and the itouch is, well, not. the iphone also has a mic.
