Wow. Brilliant use of brass as a compositional voice. Lots of odd 'efx' cymbals used perfectly. Does anyone know if Vai wrote the drum chart for this? He usually writes all of his drummers' parts. The Fire Garden Suite is one of the first real suites for rock ensemble ever written. Brilliant trap kit composing.

Kinda Zappa because Steve Vai was hugely inspired by Zappa and later played in the band.Listen to Vai's first album, Flexible, to hear how zappa he used to be

Excelent. Nothing to complain here. Great playing, great showmanship (outstanding, actually, reminds me of the ol' greats), he fits very well on those Steve Vai songs. More so than Donati (imo).
